"Tell me of that Treasure State, story always new. Tell of its beauties grand, and its hearts so true. Mountains of sunset fire, the land I love the best." ― Charles Cohan
ABOUT
Whitefish is one of the most beautiful towns in Montana, and if my biased opinion counts, probably the whole country, too. The town is small, with a population of around 7000, but the geography is, well, not small. Whitefish is the nearest town to Glacier National Park and hosts the droves of inspired tourists and locals alike who come to see the shooting waterfalls, jagged ridgelines, and of course, glaciers. Like other towns in Western Montana, Whitefish attracts outdoor enthusiasts and all the lively culture that comes with them.
Directly to the South are the Mission Mountains and Flathead Lake, which is the largest natural lake in the state. Because of the lake effect, the area enjoys an unusually prosperous growing season and many residents have their own cherry, peach, and apple orchards. And when there’s too much fruit for one household, it’s not uncommon to see it being sold in roadside stands. And along with the beautiful summer opportunities, Whitefish is also home to world-class skiing in Whitefish Mountain Resort.
