"I come from Montana, and in Eastern Montana we have a lot of dirt between lightbulbs."  Sen. Conrad Burns

ABOUT

Billings is nicknamed the “Magic City” for a reason.  And that reason is the economic viability and rapid growth that has seemed to magically exist in the city since its inception as a railroad town in 1882.  With a population of around 110,000, Billings has long been a regional hub for transportation and economic activity, and maintains the highest growth rate of any city in the state.  Because of its population and centrality, Billings also hosts many conventions, sporting events, and entertainment throughout the year.

Geographically, Billings is could be described as the Western edge of the Great Plains.  It’s surrounded by looming, beautiful cliffs known as the rimrocks, and is reminiscent of the Badlands of South Dakota.  Just a bit further West, the Rocky Mountains start in earnest, and Red Lodge Ski Resort accommodates the skiers of the city.
